"When engaging in work related to 'technology' or 'humanities knowledge'

For the work you intend to engage in, you must meet one of the following criteria and have acquired the necessary knowledge:

  1. Graduated from a university majoring in the relevant subject or received an education equivalent to or higher than that
  2. Completed a specialized course in a vocational school in Japan majoring in the relevant subject
  3. Have more than 10 years of practical experience (including the period of majoring in the relevant subject at university, technical college, or high school)


When engaging in work related to 'international business'

If the applicant intends to engage in work that requires a foundation in foreign culture-based thinking or sensitivity, they must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Have more than 3 years of practical experience in work related to the intended field
  2. If engaged in translation, interpretation, or language instruction, have graduated from a university
